Using Analysis
In the Foods editor, the Analysis pane allows you to view the nutrient analysis for a food, or for one serving of a recipe, or for an entire recipe.
The Analysis pane in the Clients and Client Groups editors allows you to view the daily average intake for a specified meal, day, or range of days. You can also view the exchanges in all of these editors.
In the Foods editor, follow these steps to view the Analysis pane:
- Select Tools/Analysis to display the Analysis pane.
The Analysis pane contains:
- A Nutrient goal template field
- An Amount option button which allows you to designate nutrient analysis for a Single Serving or an Entire Recipe
- And the Nutrient and Exchanges tabs
The Nutrient tab contains this information:
- A list of nutrients from the selected day(s) and meal in the Clients and Client Groups editors.
- The Value and Unit fields contain data for the Single Serving or Entire Recipe options for a recipe
- The Goal Value field contains data from the selected Nutrient goal template.
- The **%**Goal Value field contains the percentage of the Value compared to the Goal Value.
- A
button which accesses the read only Macronutrient Kilocalorie Percentages dialog box, which includes a Macronutrient Pie chart that displays the Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat, and Alcohol macronutrient Kilocalorie percentages.
The Exchanges tab contains exchange values.
- Click
to select a Nutrient goal template to use for comparison. The Goal Value and % Goal Value fields appear in the Nutrients analysis. By default, the nutrient goal is set to the entry in the Nutrient Goals tab, if there is one.

to return the Nutrient goal template to the default.

to select nutrients as necessary. This allows you to change which nutrients are displayed.
- To return the right pane to Normal view from the Foods editor, select Tools/Normal from the menu bar or click
.
In the #Client and Client Groups, the Analysis pane can be viewed from any Diet Record, Food Questionnaire, Menu, or Menu Template.
From a Diet Record, Food Questionnaire, Menu, or Menu Template, follow these steps to access the Analysis pane:
- Select View/Analysis. to display the Analysis pane
The Analysis pane contains:
- A Nutrient goal template field
- The Analyze by option button offers the following display options:
- by Selection, such as Diet Record, Food Questionnaire, Menu, or Menu Template
- by Day range and Meal.
- And the Nutrient and Exchanges tabs
The Nutrient tab contains this information:
- A list of nutrients from the selected day(s) and meal in the Clients and Client Groups editors.
- The Value and Unit fields contain data from the selected day(s) and meals in the Clients and Client Groups editors.
- The Goal Value field contains data from the selected Nutrient goal template.
