Calculating macronutrients

To automatically calculate macronutrients based on percentages, follow these steps from the Nutrient Goal Templates, the Clients Nutrient Goal, or Client Groups Nutrient Goal screen:

  1. Type a value in the Kilocalories Value field. This is required for calculating macronutrients.
  2. Click . The Calculate Macronutrients dialog box appears.
  3. Enter percent for protein, carbohydrate, and fat from kilocalories, totaling 100%:

a. Type a percentage in the Kilocalories from Protein field.

b. Type a percentage in the Kilocalories from Carbohydrate field.

c. Type a percentage in the Kilocalories from Fat field.

Enter two percentages and the software calculates the difference for the last field to reach 100%.

Calories are required to calculate Macronutrients.

  1. Click . Calculated values appear in the Protein, Carbohydrate, and Fat fields.
