Calculating kilocalories
To calculate kilocalories from the Clients Nutrient Goal tab, follow these steps:
- Click
. The Calculate Kilocalories dialog box appears.
- Select an Activity level from the list.
- Click
. Nutritionist Pro calculates the kilocalories for the client based on the Harris-Benedict Formula using the activity level entered in the dialog box and the client's weight (the formula can only be used for adults, anyone under the age of 18 will not be able to use the Harris-Benedict Formula for calculating Kilocalories). Calorie needs for children can however be entered in manually for the client since Harris-Benedict does not account for them.
- If no kilocalorie value is included in the selected Nutrient Goal, Nutritionist Pro calculates the value for the Kilocalorie Value field in the Clients Nutrient Goal tab.
- If the kilocalorie value is included in the selected Nutrient Goal, the value appears in the Kilocalories field in the Calculate Kilocalories dialog box. Nutritionist Pro re-calculates the value for the Kilocalorie Value field in the Clients Nutrient Goal tab.
- Click
. The dialog box closes and the calculated value appears in the client's Nutrient Goal's Kilocalories field.
- Click
to cancel the operation.
