Selecting nutrient goals for clients
Nutrient Goal Templates provide information that can be used for individual clients. Create the client's nutrient goals by using the Nutrient Goal Template editor, or by typing values directly in the Clients Nutrient Goal tab.
To create a client's Nutrient Goals after opening or adding a client, complete the following steps:
- Either use a template or type values:
- Use a Nutrient Goal Template to create a client's Nutrient Goals:
a. Click . The Select Nutrient Goal Template dialog box appears. The dialog box contains these tabbed sections to limit the search:
Select the Axxya Systems option to see all nutrient goals that ship with Nutritionist Pro.
b. Click . A list of foods found in the search appears in the dialog box.
- Click
to clear the dialog box and start over.
c. Select a Nutrient Goal Template from the Search list. Click . The dialog box closes and the information from the selected template appears in the client's Nutrient Goal tab.
- Type the nutrient values directly in the Value fields. When you type a value, the check box next to the nutrient is selected.
- Click the Defined items only check box to display only the nutrients you have selected. This is an optional field.
- Click
to clear all values from the client's Nutrient Goals screen.
- Click
If selected, clear the Defined items only check box before clicking . Otherwise, the Nutrient Goals tab will be blank. If the screen is blank, clear the Defined items only check box, then click
.
- Calculate kilocalories if necessary. Nutritionist Pro calculates kilocalories based on the Harris-Benedict Formula and the activity level entered in the Calculate Kilocalories dialog box.
If you use a Nutrient Goal Template to create a client's nutrient goals, modify Kilocalories after loading a template, or the template will override changes.
- Calculate macronutrients if necessary.
If you use a Nutrient Goal Template to create a client's nutrient goals, modify Macronutrients after loading a template, or the template will override changes.
- Modify the values as necessary.
- Click
to save the information in the Clients tab, including the client's nutrient goals.
- Select File/Save As from the menu bar to save the file under a new name.
Using the Clients Editor
