Defining diets for clients
A diet is a record of what a client has eaten. Use the Diets tab to create diets for individual clients. Diets consist of Diet Records and Food Questionnaires. Diet records document foods a client has eaten in the past. Food questionnaires document the frequency of foods consumed.
To create a new diet after opening or adding a client, complete the following steps:
- Click
to access the New Diet Record and New Food Questionnaire options.

Right-click the mouse in the dialog boxes to access shortcut menus for each screen.
- Click New Diet Record and a file, Diet Record 1, appears in the dialog box. Diet records appear in sequential order (Diet Record 1, Diet Record 2, Diet Record 3, etc.).
- A diet record contains a record of the food a client has eaten over a period of time.
- A diet record is similar to a menu, but it is used as a record of food consumed in the past.
- Complete a New Diet Record.
- Select View/Analysis from the menu bar to view a detailed analysis of the diet.
- Select View/Profiling from the menu bar to view information about all foods in a menu or diet. Sort the list as desired.
- Click New Food Questionnaire and a file, Food Questionnaire 1, appears in the dialog box. Food Questionnaires appear in sequential order (Food Questionnaire 1, Food Questionnaire 2, Food Questionnaire 3, etc.).
- A Food Questionnaire is provided to assess eating patterns over time.
- Complete a New Food Questionnaire by double clicking and then select Tools/Questionnaire.
- Select View/Analysis from the menu bar to view a detailed analysis of the food questionnaire.
- Select View/Profiling from the menu bar to view information about all foods in a menu or diet. Sort the list as desired.
- Click
. The Properties dialog box appears. Complete the Properties dialog box.

You can also access this Properties dialog box from the Diets tab or from the New Diet Record or New Food Questionnaire screens.
- Click

to rearrange the order of Diets and Questionnaires appearing in the Diets tab.
- If appropriate, select Edit/Rename from the menu bar and type a new name to rename the diet record or food questionnaire.
- Click
to save the information in the Clients editor, including the client's diets.
- Select File/Save As to save the file under a new name.
- Click
to access either the New Diet Record or Food Questionnaire screen.
- Click
to remove the selected diet record or food questionnaire.
