Diet analysis module introduction
The Diet analysis module is in beta. Its sidebar items sit under a Beta heading, and each dashboard carries a short beta notice. Choose Send feedback from the profile menu to tell us what needs work.
The Diet analysis module is the diet and nutrition analysis component of Nutritionist Pro online. Use it to record what a client eats, compare that intake against current dietary reference goals, track exercise and weight over time, and print the reports that explain the results to the client.
Clients and client groups
The module is built around two records:
- A client is one person. A client carries contact information, demographics, a nutrient goal, exercise sets, diets, menus, weight history, and notes.
- A client group describes a cohort rather than an individual, for example everyone in a facility or a class. A group carries the number of clients, an age range, a gender, and its own nutrient goal, diets, and menus.
Use a client for individual counselling and a client group when you are planning for several people at once.
Diets
A client's diets are held in one list, and each entry is one of two kinds:
- A diet record is organized as a tree: the record, then days, then meals, then foods. Add one day for a 24 hour recall, or three days for a three day record. There is no separate feature for each length; the number of days you add is what makes the difference.
- A food questionnaire records long-term eating habits instead of specific days. Foods are grouped into Daily, Weekly, and Monthly buckets, and each food carries how often the client eats it.
A client can hold as many of each as you need, mixed in the same list. Client groups have diet records only.
Where to find it
Click Clients in the sidebar to open the Clients dashboard. The dashboard has cards for the main tasks:
- Create Client starts the client wizard.
- Edit Client opens the client search screen, where you can find and reopen a client.
- PRINT Report opens client reports.
- OPTIONS sets module-wide preferences such as the measurement system.
Below the cards, an appointment calendar and a Recent Client table give you quick access to the clients you are working with. Client Groups in the sidebar has an equivalent dashboard.
Data sources
Throughout the module you choose between two data sources:
- Axxya Systems is the built-in library. It includes the standard meals, exercises, and nutrient goal templates.
- My Data is everything you have created yourself, including your own nutrient goal templates and custom exercises.
Search screens default to the Axxya Systems data source. If a list looks empty, switch the Data Source option to My Data.
