Importing and exporting clients
Clients and client groups can be exported to a file and imported again, which is how you move records between accounts or keep a copy outside the app.
Export
- Click Tools in the sidebar, then open Bulk Export.
- Choose the Client module, or Client Group for groups.
- Run the export. The file downloads to your computer.
Import
- Click Tools in the sidebar, then open Sheet Import.
- Choose the Client module and upload the file.
- The Import Preview screen lists every client the file will create, so you can check it before anything is written.
- Click Check for Errors to validate the file. Any rows that cannot be matched are flagged here.
- Click Import. The clients are created and appear in your client list.
Import the client group file the same way, choosing the Client Group module. See sheet import for the full procedure, including how to get the sample file and what each column expects.
What travels with a client
A client's diets, food questionnaires, exercise sets, weights, and notes are all part of the client file. There is no separate import or export for them, so exporting a client takes their whole history along.
Custom items that a client's records point at, such as your own foods, recipes, meals, and exercises, are exported separately. Import those first so the client's references resolve to the right items.
Sheet import and bulk export are disabled for trial accounts.
A data file, not a report
Bulk export produces a data file from your records rather than a printable report. Use it when you want the underlying values for analysis elsewhere; use client reports when you want something to hand to a client.
