Troubleshooting

When a label will not generate, or a recipe does not produce the numbers you expect, the Troubleshooting page checks the record and tells you what is wrong and what to do about it. It is read-only: running a check never changes your data.

Where to find it​

Click Help in the sidebar, then choose Troubleshooting. Every subscription has it, whichever module you bought.

Run a check​

  1. Choose a Tool, either Recipe diagnosis or Label diagnosis.
  2. Type a name in the search box. For a recipe you can also search by its ID. Click Search.
  3. The results table lists what matched, with its region and, for a recipe, whether it is a draft or published.
  4. Click a row, or its Diagnose button, to run the check.

Only your own recipes and labels are searched, and drafts are included.

Read the result​

The page first shows the record's own details: its ID, region, and dates, plus the servings and ingredient count for a recipe, or the label type, language, food count, and whether the data was entered by hand or taken from a recipe.

Underneath that is a verdict:

  • Healthy means nothing was found. The record should work.
  • Needs attention means you can fix it yourself, using the steps listed below the verdict.
  • Needs support means the record has a data problem that cannot be fixed in the editor.

What was found and what to do lists each finding with the action to take. Findings are tagged Try this first, For information, or Needs support, and each one carries the detail behind it. A recipe check also lists the ingredients that had a finding, the label nutrients that no ingredient carries a value for, and any saved totals that no longer match the ingredients. All values at the end expands the whole record if you want to look through it.

Check again re-runs the check without searching again, which is the quickest way to confirm a fix worked.

When the verdict is Needs support, or the steps did not fix it, use the Contact Support link on the page and quote the recipe or label ID shown in the result. That ID is what lets support find the exact record.
