Bulk export
Bulk Export writes your records out to a spreadsheet, for reporting, for a backup, or to move data between accounts. The export uses the same column layout as the import sample, so a file exported from one account can be imported into another.
Bulk Export comes with the Label module, the Diet analysis module, and the Menu creation module. What you can export depends on which of them you have; see the list below.
Bulk Export is disabled for trial accounts.
What you can export
Choose one of these under the module picker. You only see the kinds of record your subscription and permissions allow, and the module each one belongs to is what decides that.
- Ingredient. Label module.
- Recipe. Label module.
- Recipe Book. Label module.
- Label. Label module.
- Client. Diet analysis module or Menu creation module.
- Client Group. Diet analysis module or Menu creation module.
- Menu Template. Menu creation module.
- Food Costing. Diet analysis module.
The page opens on the first kind you are allowed to export, which is not the same one for everybody. Labels can be exported but not imported, so the Label entry has no counterpart in Sheet import.
Run an export
- Click Tools in the sidebar, then open Bulk Export.
- Choose what you want to export.
- Open the New Export tab.
- Click Select Nutrients and choose the nutrient columns you want in the file. Ingredient, recipe, and label exports need at least one nutrient before they will run. Client exports do not.
- Set the filters to narrow what is exported, then click Apply filter. The page reports how many records match. Reset clears the filters again.
- Click Export and accept the disclaimer.
The file downloads to your browser. Exports are capped at 1,000 records, so use the filters if you have more than that.
See your recent exports
The List of Recent Exports tab lists what you have exported, with the date and whether it completed. Each row can be downloaded again from there. The file is rebuilt from the record of the export rather than stored, so a download always reflects your data as it is now.
