Defining diets for client groups

A diet is a record of what a client has eaten over a period of time. Use the Client Groups Diets tab to create diets for client groups. To create a client groups' New Diet Record after opening or adding a client group, complete the following steps:

  1. Click to create a new client groups' diet.
  2. Click . The New Diet Record dialog box appears.
    • Click to remove the diet from the window.
  3. Click . The New Diet Record Properties dialog box appears. Complete the Properties dialog box.
  4. Click to add a new diet day. Diet days appear in sequential order (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc.).

You can also cut, copy, and paste information from another diet or menu.

  1. Click . The Add Meal dialog box appears.

a. Select a meal and click . The meal appears in the dialog box.

b. Add additional meals as necessary.

c. Click to close the dialog box.

  1. Click . The Add Food dialog box appears and allows you to search for an existing food to add to the diet.

There are no Select Food Sets in diets. If a menu containing a Select Food Set is copied to a diet, both food items are considered as separate items in the analysis.

a. Select a food from the search and click . A Properties dialog box appears. Complete the Properties dialog box.

b. Click the Add every (Days) checkbox and enter a number to repeat the food throughout the menu for a specific meal, if appropriate.

c. Click to close the Add Food dialog box. The food appears under the meal. Nutrients appear in the right pane.

  1. To add or modify nutrients, select View/Nutrients from the menu bar. The Select Nutrients dialog box appears.
  2. Select or modify meals as necessary.
  3. Select View from the menu bar to perform one of the following functions:
    • Select View/Analysis to view an analysis of nutrients and exchanges from the diet.
    • Select View/Profiling to view information about all foods in a menu or diet. Sort the list as desired.
  4. If appropriate, select the New Diet Record name and click on the New Diet Record toolbar to access the Properties dialog box for the New Diet Record to modify information.
  5. If appropriate, select the Food and click on the New Diet Record toolbar to access the Food Properties dialog box to modify information.

Modifying Food Properties changes the nutrient values.

  1. Select Edit/Rename and type the new name to rename the diet record and diet days.
  2. Click or to rearrange the order of New Diet Record files appearing in the Diets window.
  3. Click to save the information in the Client Groups editor, including the groups' new diet information.
  • Select File/Save As to save the file under a new name.
