Client menus

Menus are assigned to a client on the Menus step of the client record. You can build a menu from scratch or start from a menu template. Client groups work the same way, so a single menu can serve an entire group.

Open the client's Menus step

  1. Open the client (or client group) and go to the Menus step.
  2. The menu editor opens, showing the client's existing menus.

Within a client record the editor has a few extra controls: a New menu for adding menus, cut, copy, and paste at the menu level, and a panel toggle that shows or hides the client's general information.

Add a blank menu

  1. Click New, then choose Menu. An empty menu is added to the tree.
  2. Build it out with days, meals, and foods as described in Using the menu editor.

Apply a menu template

  1. Click New, then choose Menu Template. The Search Menu Templates dialog opens.
  2. Search for the template. Switch the Data Source to My Data to find templates you created.
  3. Click the template's row. The template's entire menu, with all of its days, meals, and foods, is copied into the client's menus.

The copy is independent of the original template. Changes you make for the client do not affect the template, and later edits to the template do not change menus that were already applied.

Set the menu dates

Select the menu and click Properties to set its Name, Start Date, End Date, and Note. For client groups you can also record the Number Served.

Save

Menu changes are saved when you click Continue at the bottom of the step, which also moves you to the next step of the client record.

Client menu reports

The client's Reports area has a Menus tab with the same reports that are available for menu templates, including the Menu Report, Nutrient Analysis, Nutrition Summary, and Shopping List. The General tab's Diets and Menus report lists all of the client's menus with their start and end dates and notes.
