Using the menu templates editor

The Menu Templates editor allows you to create special menus, such as Diabetic, Low Fat, and Low Sodium, that can be used for different clients.

note

The Menu Templates editor is not available when Food Labeling is purchased as a stand-alone product.

You can also use the templates as a base for new menus. For example, if you create menus with the same combination of side items (such as bread, milk, coffee), you can put these menus in a Menu Template once. Then, by adding different foods you can reuse the template to create new menus in the Clients or Client Groups editors.

To access the Menu Templates editor, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the navigation bar. The Menu Templates screen appears. The Menu Templates editor allows you to perform these tasks:
    • create custom menus for specific clients
    • add meals
    • add foods to the meals
    • analyze the nutrient content of a food, each meal, a specific day, and the average daily content for the entire menu
    • analyze the nutrient content of a food in the meal
  3. Select View from the menu bar to perform one of the following functions:
    • Select View/Normal to open or create menu templates.
    • Select View/Analysis to see a nutrition analysis for the menu template, comparing the menu to nutrition goals. Click to access the Select Nutrients dialog box and edit nutrients.
    • Select View/Profiling to view information about all foods in a menu or diet. Sort the list as desired.
