Adding new nutrient goal templates

The Nutrient Goal Template screen contains the following fields that allow you to create a new nutrient goal template. Click the field name to jump to its information.

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Age Range
  • Value
  • Macronutrients
  • Defined items only

To create a new nutrient goal template and add it to the knowledge base, complete the following steps:

  1. Click on the navigation bar.
  2. Click on the navigation bar.
  3. Type the name of the nutrient goal template in the Name field.

It may be helpful to choose a name that describes the gender, age, and specific criteria (for instance, RDA , Female - 25 to 49 years).

  1. Select the Gender from the list. This is an optional field.
  2. Type the Age Range. This is an optional field.
  3. Fill in the Value field by typing in the appropriate information for the necessary nutrients. When you type a value, the check box next to the nutrient will be selected.
  4. Click the Defined items only check box to display only the nutrients you have selected. This is an optional field.
  5. Calculate macronutrients. This is optional if you want to calculate the macronutrients based on the percent of kilocalories.

Modify Micronutrients after loading a template, or the template will override changes.

  1. To clear all entries from the Value fields, click . This is an optional task. If the Defined items only check box is selected, the window is also cleared.

If you select by mistake, close the Nutrient Goal Template and select No from the dialog that asks if you want to save changes.

  1. Click to save the nutrient goal template. The file name will match the entry in the Name field.
  • The new customized nutrient goal template is added to the knowledge base for use in the Clients and Client Groups editors.
