Terms and commands

The following terms are used in the online Help:

  • Click , select a command or option by pressing the left mouse button once.
  • Right-click , select a command by pressing the right mouse button once.
  • Double-click , select a command by pressing the left mouse button twice in rapid succession.
  • Select , choose an item from the menu bar or an item from a list by clicking

  • Clear , deselect a checked box or option by clicking.
  • Drag , to select an item in a list, press the mouse button, and move the item

across the screen, resulting in copying or moving the item.

  • Drop , to release the mouse button after dragging an item.
  • Field , an area on the screen where information is entered.

The Nutritionist Pro Help File uses the following format in describing commands:

  • The actual buttons for commands to click or press are displayed. For example:

  • Keyboard commands that require you to press keys simultaneously are displayed in bold, spelled out with a plus sign (+) between them. For example:

Press Ctrl + O.

  • Menu bar commands are displayed in bold with a slash between them. For example:

Select File/New Client. (Click File from the menu bar and then click New Client from the menu that appears.)

  • Field names that must have information typed into them are displayed in bold. For example:

Enter the client's birthday in the Date of Birth field. This will automatically calculate the Age field.

  • Dialog box names are displayed in italics. For example:

The Reference dialog box indicates the source of a particular food.
