Customer API introduction
The Nutritionist Pro customer API is a REST API that lets your own software read the data you have created in Nutritionist Pro online. Use it to show recipes and nutrition on a website, send nutrient values to a point of sale, or keep an ERP or menu system in step with your account.
Read-only by design
The API is read-only. Every endpoint is a GET request. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything, and it cannot change account settings. To change your data, keep using the Nutritionist Pro online application.
What it returns
The API returns the same data you can see when you sign in to Nutritionist Pro, including data shared with you by other users on your account.
- Recipes, with servings, instructions, allergens, nutrients, and ingredient lines.
- Recipe books, and the recipes in each book.
- Ingredients, one at a time by ID.
- Labels, with the serving, statements, and nutrient values saved on each label.
Three kinds of data are left out:
- Items that are still in Draft status.
- Data that belongs to other accounts.
- The Axxya ingredient database as a list. An Axxya database ingredient can be read only when it is used in one of your recipes. See Ingredients.
How it works
Every request is an HTTPS GET to the base URL, with your API key in the Authorization header. Responses are JSON.
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer <API_KEY>" \
"https://dev.nutritionistpro.com/v3/customer/recipes?limit=2"
{
"status": true,
"code": 200,
"data": [

}
],
"meta": { "total": 1, "limit": 2, "offset": 0 }
}
Who can use it
The API is available to Nutritionist Pro online accounts with an active subscription. Trial accounts cannot create an API key. Each user can make 500 requests per day; see Errors and limits.
